When Linode announced yet another round of free upgrades to their hosting service, I just couldn’t put it off any longer. It was time to move this blog from Dreamhost to Linode.
A couple of months ago, I switched to a Dreamhost Virtual Private Server for this blog because I figured it would be an easy way to increase the abysmal speed at which it loaded. For $35/month, I got 700MB of RAM and zero speed increase. Meanwhile, at Linode, I get 2 GB of RAM, my whole site on an SSD, and all this for only $20/month. And the site is FAST again.
I admit, I’ve been avoiding updating this blog because of how slow it is. (I have caching on! That’s not the problem!) So now I have no excuses! Guess it’s about time to write that followup article about gulp.js, and maybe one about my adventures learning angular.js.
